چکیده
Methods The usefulness of spa-typing, pulse-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) and automated repetitive extragenic palindromic sequence-based (rep-PCR) method (DiversiLab, Bacterial Barcodes, Inc.) for typing Finnish MRSA strains was studied. A total of 110 clinical MRSA isolates collected from well-defined outbreaks in Ostrobothnia region and 96 isolates from several epidemics or sporadic sources all over Finland were analysed.

Comparison of fingerprinting methods for typing methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus sequence type 398.
This study evaluates the multiple-locus variable-number tandem-repeat assay (MLVA) and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) when using restriction enzymes BstZI, SacII, and ApaI to fingerprint a diverse collection of methicillin (meticillin)-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) sequence type 398 (ST398) isolates. These isolates had been characterized previously by multilocus sequence typin...
متن کاملMolecular Characterization of Community-Associated Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus in Iranian Burn Patients
Background & Objective: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is reported as one of the important bacterial causes of burn wound infections. This study was carried out to investigate molecular characterization of community-associated MRSA (CA-MRSA) isolated from Iranian burn patients. Methods: A total of 31 isolates of S. aureus<...
متن کاملMolecular Characteristics of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Isolated from Diabetic Foot Infection
Background & Objective: Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU), is one of the most frequent causes for hospitalizations in patients with diabetes. A major problem in the treatment of DFU is the increased-incidence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The aim of this study was to determine the SCCmec types of MRSA isolates and their epidemiology among pati...
متن کاملIsolation of PVL/ACME-Positive, Community Acquired, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (USA300) from Iran
Introduction: Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is responsible for an increasing number of serious hospital- and community-acquired infections. USA300 is known to be the most common cause of community-acquired infections, but recently there have been some reports on hospital-acquired infections caused by this strain. Methods: Totally 171 isolates of S. aureus were collected fro...
متن کاملComparative molecular analysis of community- or hospital-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
Community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) is a growing public health concern that has been associated with pediatric fatalities. It is hypothesized that the evolution of CA-MRSA is a recent event due to the acquisition of mec DNA by previously methicillin-susceptible strains that circulated in the community. This study investigated the genetic relatedness between ...
